On 17th May 2018 we have launched a new version of our Vehicle Tracking App. There have been many changes both from technical view point and users view point.
What happened to the old Trakomatic App?
Well, to keep things secure we had to update the app. Trakomatic’s Vehicle Tracking app is a cross platform app built on Ionic Framework. Due to massive changes between Ionic 1 and Ionic 2, we had to rewrite the app completely. Along with technical changes, there have been many UI related changes as well.
What’s new?
The UI has been tweaked a lot. In this new app the vehicle list gives you a complete insight of your fleet. You don’t have to navigate between different screens to understand the current status of all of your vehicles. You can have an overall idea of your fleet from this screen. The way the alerts were used to display has been changed. Vehicle Live Tracking screen has been modified as well. In reports section, a graphical representation of Fuel’s data has been added. The tracking history speed is now controllable. You can slow down or fast forward the tracking history play back.
On another note, we have removed the “Navigate to your vehicle” feature that existed in the old app. We noticed that many users do not use that feature and thus it was dropped. But instantly we got mails and calls from some clients saying that they have been using that feature and was a great thing for them. So we decided to add it back. Hopefully by mid of July 2018, we’ll add that feature back and there will be another release of our app. Keep tuned.
